Magical, medieval villages of Provence’s breathtaking Luberon Valley,
clustered round a château clinging precariously to the hillside,
above a landscape resplendent with vineyards, olive groves, fruit orchards
and in the summer, carpets of lavender and dancing sunflowers.
Some you may just drive through others you might choose to linger longer.
If staying in Lourmarin, taking the D943, this would be a good route to see them all.

Bonnieux

From Lourmarin: D943 and D36 (13.5km)
Follow the zig zagging road through the village admiring the beautiful views across the valley

Lacoste

From Bonnieux: D109 (5.9km)
Drive up to its stunning château,
in summer check out the schedule for it incredible arts performances!

Ménerbes

From Lacoste: D109 (7km)
Pass vines and Chateaux, park you car & amble the streets,
from the pretty gardens of Café Véranda gaze down at the vineyards (closed Tuesdays)

Oppède Le Vieux

From Ménerbes: D188 (3.5km)
Leave your car at the bottom of the village
and step back in time within these fascinating, ghostly ramparts

Gordes

From Oppède Le Vieux (12.7km) 
D188 to D178 to D211 to D2 to D15 to D102  (not difficult I promise!)
The grandest and most famous Luberon perched village;
as you approach have your camera ready!

Roussillon

From Gordes: D2 (11.9km)
The ochre village, quite enchanting & not to be missed!

Goult

From Roussillon D105 to D104 (7.5km)
Tiny but special, do eat at La Terrasse, on the right, approaching the village up the hill

Return to Lourmarin

passing the Roman bridge Pont St Julien (on your right)
and Chateau Canorgue, the location for that quintessential Luberon movie, 'A Good Year'!
Continue on D149 to Bonnieux
retracing your steps to Lourmarin via D36 and D943
